Jack Richard tried to sell a story to Sports Illustrated about hunting beaver. He writes what he calls a beaver yarn. SI could not use the pictures or the story, but the basic story was Mac Taggart who is foreman for the Two Dot ranch needed to eliminate 85 beavers who were damming up streams and causing floods and drowning cows who fell through the ice. Mac describes how he eliminates beavers, shooting, trapping and snaring.
