 File — Box: MS89.08, Folder: 89.08.21
Identifier: Folder 89.08.21

Scope and Contents

A series of pictures and articles about calving time in Wyoming. Article was rejected by Life magazine, but an editor gave Jack some suggestions about resubmitting the article in a different season. Story describes how calving has changed and what weight is wanted and how the calves are cared for and the decrease in calf mortality is not an accident. Pictures illustrate various phases of calving operations. Jack also wrote the Nixon Company of Omaha, Nebraska asking if they would like to use the negatives of the calving operation in an advertising campaign. No answer if they ever used the photos.
