Scope and Contents

The Park County News 01/25/1962 Livingston, MT speaking to the subject reducing elk herds in the Lamar Valley of Yellowstone. Elk are shot and hung on racks until meat plants pick up carcass or individuals who purchases an elk pick up their animal. This elk reduction was opposed by Mel Stonehouse, Roy Coleman and Ned Frost of Cody who brought a lawsuit.

A letter from Jack Richard to Senator Joe Hickey speaking to a proposed bill by Senator Hickey to halt Elk slaughter in Yellowstone. Jack expresses to the Senator that Yellowstone can only support so many elk and there are 2 sides to the story.
