Portugal: The National Palace of Pena. Alarcon Dam, in the province of Cuenca, Spain, about 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) from the city of alarcon. Bull fights. MADRID: Royal Palace ("Palacio Real"). Avenue of the Supreme Commander ("Avenida Del Generalisimo"). Union House ("Casa Sindical"). Municipal museum ("Museo Municipal"). Royal Spanish Academy ("R.Acdmia. Espanola de la lengua"). Pleasant Retreat Park ("Parque del retiro"). Fountain of Apollo. The Fountain of Apollo is a statue that depicts the Greek God of music, Apollo, carrying a lyre and surrounded by scluptures of the four seasons. ("Fuente de Apolo"). Fountain of Neptune. A neoclassical fountain located in Madrid. It lies on the center of the Plaza de Canovas del Castillo, a roundabout in the Paseo del Prado. The sculptural group in its center represents Neptune, a Roman water deity. ("Plaza Y Fuente de Neptuno"). General Post Office ("Palacio De Comunicaciones"). Royal Theater. ("Teatro Real") Considered one of the most prestigious opera houses in Europe and a top institution for the performing and musical arts in Spain. Alcala Gate ("Puerta de Alcala") One of Madrid's most famous landmarks. The Gate was inaugurated in 1778 by the Italian architect Francesco Sabatini, who spent most of his life working in Madrid for the Spanish Royal Family. The Puerta de Alcala replaced a brick monument from the sixteenth century that King Charles III had demolished years earlier. Previously, it had been one of the five gates of the city walls, and has long been witness to Madrid's history. Madrid Stock Exchange ("Bolsa de Madrid"). "Paseo Del Prado" boulevard includes several monuments and enclosures that are of historical and artistic interest, erected in the eighteenth century for the Hall of Prado urban project. Numerous ornamental and landscaping grounds were constructed for this project. Highlights include the Prado Museum's main building, the royal botanical Gardens and three sculptural water fountains designed by Ventura Rodriguez, dpicting Neptune, Cibeles and Apollo. Basilica of the Holy Cross of the Valley of the Fallen. (?) The slide was not marked as such but online search appears to be it. ALICANTE: Hotel Carlton from the port. ("Hotel Carlton desde el Puerto"). Palm tree walk ("Paseo de las Palmeras") SACROMONTE: Spanish Gypsies of Sacromonte doing the traditional Flamenco Dance.
