Separated; marginal creasing; minor marginal tears; pencil holograph "Elma Jacob". [Evidently a First edition of the Lone Star State classic.]

The Honey Song ("Honey I'm In Love with You"). "As introduced and recorded by Louis Massey and the Westerners." Words and music: Arbie Gibson and Curt Massey. New York: Edwin H. Morris & Co. 1942. Monochrome umber cover with photo montage of the performers. Minor creasing. [Relevance is the performers, who customarily appeared in fancy cowboy garb (as in the cover photo) and represented themselves as Western singers.]

I Got The Sun In The Morning. "Rodgers and Hammerstein / present / Ethel Merman / in / [the original Broadway production of] Annie Get Your Gun, " directed by Joshua Logan. Words and music: Irving Berlin; book by: Herbert and Dorothy Fields. New York: Irving Berlin Music Co. 1948. Two‑color black/red cover with drawn Old West ornaments vignettes of Buffalo Bill Cody and a Native American, centering on Annie Oakley, with extensive credits and text. [Evidently a First Edition of the popular musical about Buffalo Bill's wild West Show and stars Annie Oakley and Frank Butler. There's no business like show business.]

Roll Along Covered Wagon. Words and music: Jimmy Kennedy. London: Peter Maurice Music Co., Ltd. 1934. Two‑color black/orange cover with woodcut of a Conestoga‑type covered wagon, drawn by two horses and driven by a man or woman in cowboy garb, passing through prairie land with cactus alongside and mountains in the background, signed in monogram "MSF'. Marginal creasing; minor marginal tears; British bookseller's price sticker "LAURENCE OXLEY ... £ .60" British edition of what may have been an American original; however, the American edition by the Irving Berlin Music Co. did not appear until 1935. It was causally related to "Roll Along, Prairie Moon," words and music by Ted Fiorito, Cecil Mack, and Albert Van Tilzer" (1935), which was featured in the musical motion‑pictures Here Comes the Band (MGM, 1935) and King of the Cowboys (1943), starring Roy Rogers.]
