Newspaper clipping: "Gun ordinance reasonable", Columbus, OH, 1974 (specifics unknown)
Scope and Contents
Gun ordinance reasonable; The proposed legislation was....attempting to cut down on the increasing frequency of crimes committed at gun point in the city. The orinance is so designed that it would not prohibit possession of a gun for legitimate purposes by any law abiding citizens; nor would it remove good handguns, rifles or shotguns from the shelves of availability. The bill would outlaw the sale or possession of the cheap Saturday night specisals and require all purchasers to abide by a 3-day waiting period between application for a weapon and its sale, then only after getting an approving affidavit from the local police. Etc.
