Fired in two four-day segments, the Fifth Champion of Champions Match consisted of 480 shots on the 50-ft. reduction of the ISU 50-meter target. The Sixth Champiion of Champions consisted of 890 shots on the conventional NRA Gallery Course. 48 individual and team records fell in open, service, civilian, and women's categories in the Int'l portion. 64 records were equalled or broken in the NRA portion of the match. This match witnessed the second 800 four-position score ever fired in competition. But this one was with irons! Capt. Margaret Thompson Murdock, shooting irons in all matches, copped the open, women's, and service records in this match....Maj.Jack Foster fired a 400-15X in the four-position any-sight Match.
