Worth, and leading the way was Army Maj.John Foster, who banged out 584 X600 in the standard rifle contest to raise the U.S. standar by more than 30 points. In the air rifle event, Sue Sandusky punched out a national women's record equalling 384, three points over Foster and Capt. Lanny Bassham. The NRA three-position competition ended w/Bassham in the winner's circle for a score of 1,168 followed closely by Foster at 1,166.
