Scope and Contents
The U.S. claimed 3 more gold medals Wednesday in the fourth Benito Juarez Int'l Shooting Championship. Among the 17 countries taking part in this tournament only 3 others have obtained gold medals. And today is the last day of the tourney and also last chance for many of the competitors. Apart from capturing the three top medals, the U.S. marksmen also grabbed 1st, 2nd, 3rd,and 4th place in the free rifle at 300 meters. Winner was John Foster with a total of 1,154 points, with 394 in kneeling position. David Kimes came in 2nd, Lones Wigger 3rd and Lanny Bassham 4th. The team competition in the same trial brought another first for the United States with a total 4,576 points with Foster, Kimes, Wigger and Bassham teaming up for the final conquest.
