Photo of Foster -caption: 25 years of daily practice and dedication to competitive shooting has payed off in satisfaction for John Foster, the 41 year-old coach of Montana State University rifle team. 45 competitors from 2 states traveled to Lewiston MT to compete in the 2-day event. 3 separate events were offered to competitors; NRA 3-position, NRA 4-position, and Air Rifle. In all classes the competition was intense w/former U.S. Army Marksmanship Training Unit members setting the pace. NRA 3-position full course match, Maj.John Foster of Bozeman MT, was match winner w/an 1164X1200...etc.Maj.John Foster was a repeat winner in the NRA 4-position match, as he edged out Ralph Saunders for match winner by one point, 795 to 794. In the buddy team, the combination of John Foster and Tricia Foster were the winners w/a 794.
