Scope and Contents

Hosted by Ft.Benning the last of April, year unknown. ....the U.S. Army won 12 of the 15 individual events and all but one of the team events. Of the 4 losses, the Army Reserves, National Guard and U.S. Marine Corps picked up one individual championship each while the lone Army team loss was claimed by the Reserves. Turning in strong results which counted for Army domination of the matches and 7 championships, Army marksmen Maj.John Foster, Capt.Lanny Bassham and Sgt.1C Hershel Anderson, all members of the USAMU, each won multiple crowns. Foster led the elite group w/ 3 victories, one each in Army Rifle, Air Rifle and 3-Position Smallbore Rifle. Aiding the Army's cause w/single victories, veteran marksman Maj.Lones Wigger, picked up top spot in the English (Prone) Match.Etc...continues w/pistol champs, running target and skeet.
