Newspaper clipping. Patricia Kinsella. Profile of 18-year-old "Trish"., 1964
Scope and Contents
Talks about the sport of shooting, how she got interested in it, and her records. According to Trish, a rifle may be fired in competition from any of four positions-prone, kneeling, sitting or standing. She set all her national marks using the sitting position. "I do it the way they say not to," she said laughingly. "You're supposed to sit cross-legged, but I keep my feet flat on the floor." Her "flat-footed" position didn't hinder her early this year. In January she set 2 records in one match. She broke the woman's 20-shot record and later set a new 20-shot record in the junior division. Ironically, she lost the match. Trish's 3rd record came in March, when she again broke the 20-shot mark in the woman's division. Etc.
