"The Shooting Olympics" The 40th World Shooting Championships was the first Olympic shoot held in this country since 1923. Although held on our home ground- Phoenix, Arizona- these games saw the United States beaten roundly by the Russians, with several EastBloc countries taking additional Olympic gold, silver and bronze medals.
