Gun Week, Friday, Nov. 13, 1970 Maj. John Foster, a veteran Int'l rifle shooter, gave the United States another gold medal in the Army Rifle match and helped boost the U.S. Team to a second place finish in the team competition. Maj. Foster posted a 566 score to defeat runner-up Vladimir Agishev of the USSR who had a 562 score. 3rd place went to another Russian, Valentin Kornev, who hit 562 but lost out according to ISU tie-breaking rules.
