Newspaper clipping headlines: * "Schedule for Top Marksmen Announced" Jan.20. Fairbanks, The 3 conducting the marksmanship clinic are, unit coach Capt. John Foster, Lt. Margaret Thompson and Lt.John Watkins. * "Three Army Shooters Conduct Clinic at University" Three shooters from the USAMTU will wind up a 5-day clinic tomorrow at the Univ. of AK. The clinic is in conjunction with the Midwinter Invitational Rifle Matches sponsored by the university's Dept. of Military Science. * "UA Schedules Rifle Clinics" The Dept. of Military Science, University of AK, confirmed Friday an earlier report that a group from the USAMTU, Ft. Benning, GA would conduct marksmanship clinics from Jan.19-23 at the university. The clinics would be held in conjunction with the university's ROTC-sponsored Interior AK Invitational Rifle Match. The Midwinter Invitational competition, is an Int'l type smallbore event. * "Rifle Clinic Slated by U.S. Army Team" * From the Sluice Box, Fairbanks, AK Jan.18. Visitors are Numerous. * "Ft. Benning Shooters Dominate U of A Match" Fairbanks, Jan.24. Visiting members of the USAMTU won the top individual honors in the five-day U of A ROTC-sponsored Midwinter Invitaional Rifle Match. Capt. John Foster,coach of the unit was the individual match winner with a grand aggregate of 1148.
