"Shooting in the '68 Olympics....International Shooting Mystery To Many" Photo copy on P.419.2689. Contents of the article is about Int'l competition shooting........ All the world's other countries will almost certainly never switch to the American way of shooting, a hope that some shooters have been harboring. But there is an interesting trend afoot in the councils of the Int'l Shooting Union. The rapid increase in shooting interest among the emerging nations is creating a demand for rules changes that will cut the cost of shooting and simplify procedures so that the poor countries can compete in the Olympics and other matches on a more equal basis with the rich countries. In rifle shooting, there has been pressure to drop the high power three-position match, because it requires more expensive ranges, ammunition and guns than the smallbore "position" match. The Int'l Shooting Union still is trying to make its shooting sports more challenging, but it wants them to be available to more people....etc
