The International Shooting Union yesterday picked Phoenix as the site for the 1970 World Shooting Championships which are expected to be attended by about 4,500 officials and competitors from 70 nations. Franklin Orth, VP and U.S. representative to the union, emerged from its general assembly to announce the Phoenix bid had been accepted over one from Mexico City by a vote of 72 to 30.
