"U.S.Shooters Win" Bisley, England. The U.S. smallbore rifle team defeated Britain's team by 22 points in the 1st match between the 2 countries since 1939. 3,851 to Britain's 3,829 (out of 4,000). High scorers for the winners were Foster w/ 394, Don Adams and Bruce Meredith both w/ 390. Adams, an Atlanta commodity broker, became the first American to win the over-all grand aggregate championship, scoring 2,761 out of a possible 2,800 in the seven individual major events.

Wed. 12 Nov. The event closed last night with all success. (Para.5) The landslide triumph of John Foster and the Olympic champion and until this year record holder of the modality(?) in the world. Lones Wigger does not allow comments. Foster was also world champion in Oslo in the deer shooting modality(?). RESULTS 3-POSITION; John Foster 1st......score 1,144 (out of 1,200)
