Scope and Contents
* "Promotions Given In Pershing Rifles" New officers for the coming year in Pershing Rifles were installed at the regular meeting. Promotions to sergeant included John Foster, Springfield, OH. * "A Team MSU Has Forgotten" MSU has a varsity team with a record of 25 wins and no losses this year. The present record of the Grizzly rifle team. The MSU rifle team was first recognized as a Grizzly minor sport last year, but as yet the members do not receive letter sweaters for their accomplishments......etc. * "Winningest' MSU Teams Near Season's Finish" The Army ROTC rifle team ended the season with a ricore of 46 wins and 5 losses. The varsity rifle team is now firing in the intercollegiate matches against the top teams in the nation. The varsity's record during the season was 23 wins and 2 losses. * "Wilson Wins ROTC Honor" .....John Foster was promoted to private first class. * "Fifteen Military Students Receive Awards on Oval" Distinguished military students from the Army and Air Force ROTC detachments received awards at the last review of the year on the MSU oval......."Marksman Honored" The Missoula Mercantile silver cup for the outstanding Army rifle marksman, was given to Cadet PFC John R. Foster, Springfield, OH, by L.A.Colby, PR manager of the Merchantile. Foster also won the medal given by the DAR for the outstanding rifle marksman.
