* Target; Jan.30,'55. Big Timber,MT. John Foster, 100 shot offhand, score 99. * Shooters News, June '55 issue. "Montana Gallery Rifle Championships" Tournament took place in Big Timber MT, Apr. 2-3. Ten high in aggregate: Foster, 5th place. Score 1540. Lones Wigger, 7th w/ 1535. Match winners: Iron sights; Standing, Foster w/ 186. Aggregate, Foster 4th w/ 769. Any sights; Aggregate, Foster 5th w/ 771. * "Laurel, Valier, and Big Timber, Montana Sectionals". Two Rifle sectionals, one at Laurel, MT, Mar.20,'55 and one at Valier, MT, Mar.12-13. In the Laurel sectional Foster of Missoula won with an aggregate score of 782 out of 800. * "Junior Shooter Wins Montana Rifle Sectional" John Foster, a junior shooter and student at MSU hitch-hiked the 350 miles to Laurel and fired a 782 to win the Southern Montana Sectional Rifle Tournament, Mar. 20th.
