Scope and Contents
* Letter May 7,1956. NRA to John Foster...award a Certificate indicative of membership on the Second Place, 1956 All-American Rifle Team. Membership on this team is awarded annually to those men who rank highest among collegiate riflemen of the year. Leadership and scholastic standing as well as marksmanship ability are considered in making this award.
* Letter Oct.3,1956. NRA to John Foster. The Bulletin of the 1956 Nat'l Smallbore Rifle Championship indicates you fired a score of 400 in the Dewar Metallic Sight Match. This makes you a member of the "400 Club". The "400 Club" was organized at Camp Perry in 1933 with ten charter members. The membership requirement was to fire a 400 over the Dewar Course with metallic sights, in individual competition during the National Matches. In 1951 the requirements were changed to include those who scored 400 over the Dewar Course with metallic sights in individual matches during either the Nat'l Matches or a Regional Tournament.
