Scope and Contents
* The Fresno Bee, Freso CA.,Feb.22,1959 "Riflemen Will Wind Up Shoot at 50 Meters" - "Free-Rifle Shoot At Fresno Range" Fresno Rifle and Pistol Club, international style match. Teams from Fort Benning, and the San Diego marine base as well as various rifle clubs. The team of John Foster, Tommy Pool, D.Puckle and Presley Kendall took top team score with 2244. Picture in the periodical article, caption reads; "The high 5 shooters in the 300-meter half-International free-rifle course phase of the Fresno Rifle and Pistol club's Int'l-type match, line up behind some of the awards." Lt.John Foster (2nd from left), Lt. Daniel Puckel and Lt.Presley Kendall (plus 2 others).
* National Indoor Rifle Championship. The USAAMU Rifle Team, were the winners with a score of 1159 points. Team members, 2/Lt. John Foster, 2/Lt Milton Friend, Pvt Gary Anderson, and 1/Lt Tommy Pool. In the individual winners, Service Category 1st M John Foster, with 790 score.
* "Army International Team Wins at Birmingham" Izaak Walton League Smallbore match. The US Army Int'l rifle Team swept the first four places in the grand aggregate. 2nd Lt John Foster, a prospective USAAMU shooter, won one of the matches with a 400-38X score.
* "St. Petersburg Mid-Winter Smallbore" Foster was 4th highest aggregate with 3172-183X.
* Apr.22,1959 Entry and Score Card for Individual Rifle Match. 200 Yds-slow - Standing; 48-3V
200 Yds-rapid -Kneeling or sitting from standing; 49-4V
