Foster spoke to members of the Kootenai Valley Grange and showed slides of the Olympics and trips to Rome and Cairo, Egypt. * "Lt.Foster Leads Shooters in Smallbore Meet Here" - "Foster Wins Smallbore Championship" March '62 Southwestern Division Montana Smallbore Rifle Championships. Foster won the any sight aggregate with 786-51X. Foster teamed with Ted Polette to win the 2-man any sight aggregate. He was also a member of the Libby team which took any sight team honors. Foster's aggregate was 1575-98X. * "Libby Man Sets Records" - "Foster Sets New Records In Rifle Meet" - "Three National Records Fall in Smallbore Championships" May'62. Montana outdoor smallbore rifle position championships. Foster established new records in both the metallic sight and any sight aggregates. His metallic sight score of 790x800 is 5 points above the old record and any sight score of 788x800 is 1 point higher than the previous record. Foster teamed with Robert Clark of MSU to set a new national record in the any sight, 2-man team match with a score of 784.
