Scope and Contents
1.) “Foster makes world team”. Jean won a berth on the U.S. World Air Rifle Team during tryouts at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Foster, a senior at Bozeman High School, finished 3rd in the Junior Women Air Rifle competition to earn the 3rd spot on the team. She will compete in the World Air Rifle Championships in Norway. 2.) Feb.22, ’90. The Chronicle, Outdoor. “Shooting for the Top”. 17-year-old Jean Foster has her rifle sights set on some lofty goals. At the MT State Outdoor 3-Position competition in Laurel she set 5 national smallbore rifle records. Credit her parents, Jack and Trish foster. Jack was inducted into the Shooting Hall of Fame at Ft. Benning, GA in 1988. Trish quit shooting competitively when Jean was 2 years old but was one of the top 3 female shooters in the country and was a member of 2 world championship teams. Match-grade rifles aren’t cheap. Jeans .22 caliber Model 18007 Anschutz, and her Model 2001 Anschutz air rifle each cost more than $1,000. Jean prefers air rifles to smallbore. Jean started shooting when she was 9 years old and progressed quickly. As a seventh grader, she was the top shooter on the Bozeman High School team.
