Newspaper clipping. Jean Foster. Nat’l Sectional Championships, Feb.7, 1991
Scope and Contents
Billings Gazette – Outdoor. “It’s in Her Genes to be a Shooter”. Picture of Jean – Foster has already shot her way to two state titles and the National Development Team in women’s rifle shooting, just one rung on the ladder short of the U.S. Nat’l Team. She’s been the Montana junior smallbore champion for the past 2 years, earned the prestigious Lones Wigger Jr. Award of the Montana Rifle and Pistol association and placed second among all junior women at the nationals at Los Angeles. To help herself get enough training time, she elected to graduate from Bozeman High School in Jan. with a 3.0 GPA instead of waiting to complete her senior year with the rest of her class in June. “I’m planning on shooting in college. Eventually I want to become a surgeon, but I plan to start out in nursing” she said. “If I’m doing well in shooting after I finish my nursing degree, I’d also like to be a resident at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs for a while before going to medical school.
