U.S. Shooters – ISSF World Cup. Women’s 3-position rifle honors went to Olga Dovgun of Kazakhstan, with USA’s Jean Foster, a second- generation Olympic rifle shooter, taking the silver medal. Switzerland’s G. Buhlamann finished more than a point behind Foster for the bronze. Pg.11) 2000 Summer Olympics. Women’s 3-position rifle looked to be a long shot for a U.S. shooting medal. Melissa Mulloy made it into the Olympics, finishing 8th in the finals. But the competition was just too stiff, and she finished where she started, in eighth place. Another American favorite, Jean Foster, a 2-time Olympian, faded during the standing and kneeling portions of the qualifying round, finishing 26th a 571.
