Scope and Contents
Born Dec. 17, 1919 in Kent, Washington. Entered active military service of June 9, 1944 from the Heart Mountain Relocation Center in Wyoming. A member of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, Taketa was killed on Apr. 28, 1945 in the Po Valley Campaign. Awarded the combat Infantryman’s Badge, victory Medal, American Theatre Service Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
