VELMA KESSEL. Nurse at Heart Mountain. Newspaper clipping: ca.1943: “Camp Hospital Expands, Among State’s Best.." / Photocopies, 1995-1997
Scope and Contents
Newspaper clipping: ca. 1943 - “Camp Hospital Expands, Among State’s Best: The hospital has grown considerably since those first days when it was located in recreation hall 1-26, the site of the present dental clinic. At that time, it had, according to those who were here then, ‘only six beds, a clinic, a barrel of water, a hotplate and a nurse who slept there at night’. Since moving into the new 17-wing building on August 28 with just enough supplies to open one ward, the hospital has progressed steadily, both in its material equipment and in its personnel. It is now one of the largest and best equipped hospitals in the entire state of Wyoming.” Etc. Photocopies of nurses, physician, and front gate. Two notes to Ann Noble.
