Testimonies Taken Before the DIES COMMITTEE. The DIES Committee: Initially organized to investigate fascist activities, the House Un-American Activities Committee – popularly known as the Dies Committee – quickly became a controversial vehicle to persecute individuals and groups for their alleged communist ties or sympathies. Testimonies were sent to Ann Noble by Paul Tsuneishi, who got them from Michi Weglyn. Tom Oki, Oxnard, CA, was written inside the original folder (no information on him).
