Scope and Contents
Letter from Gov. Hunt to Senator A.B. Chandler, Wash. D.C. Re: Japanese draft to the armed forces. In part he writes: "As previously expressed to you and through you to your committee, I reiterate that the Japanese Relocation Center in Wyoming has given civilian authorities no trouble and very little concern. It occurs to me that your committee probably is giving consideration to the eventual demobilization of Relocation Centers and I would offer the suggestion that those of military age and physically fit who will take the Oath of Allegiance to the United States and whose loyalty is unquestioned should be taken into the armed forces through Selective Service in the usual manner." Etc.
