Letter to Guy Robertson, From J. Melvin Evans, Powell resident, Re: recent action taken by the Powell Town council. , June 16, 1944
Scope and Contents
In part it says, “It is unfortunate that our Mayor is a determined and ‘hot-headed’ fellow. In my opinion there are not many here who feel as he does. The public seems to know nothing about the moves those men make, until they act. I am no Jap lover but, do feel that they cannot be treated too severely if they are American citizens and as long as they seem to behave. As far as I know there has been not disturbance of any consequence from them, and I know that they have acted ok in every manner”....etc.
