Gov. Lester Hunt. Letter from Wm. R. Bradley, Captain, WY Highway Patrol, Aug.22, 1944
Scope and Contents
Bradley was the Governor’s special investigator, sent to Powell to do an opinion poll on the Japanese coming to the town to do business. His response in part: “From the persons I actually contacted, the percentage was about equal as to the Japs being granted the privilege of coming to Powell. However, from the information I received from direct contacts, I was given the impression that the larger majority of the townspeople were in favor of having the Japs come to Powell to trade. I would guess that the percentage would probably be about 65% to 35% in favor of having them come to the city.”
