Root cellar – Barracks – Powell Cemetery where some internees were buried, flowers placed on their graves, Guest speakers, Norman Mineta and Alan Simpson – Bacon Sakatani being awarded a plaque. HAIKAI ROCK. Before leaving Heart Mountain, the Azeka family buried a “stone” at Barrack 14. It was found by Homesteaders. The HAIKAI (simple poem) reads “Mountain peak at my shoulder...Thousand barracks...Under the autumn moon” Taketaro Azeka, pen name “Shikai”. As interpreted in the Kokoro Kara, Summer 2016 issue.
