HMWF – Educational Workshop – “Protest and Resistance: An American Tradition” – In June 2000, the Japanese American Citizens League, at their National Convention in Monterey, CA, passed a resolution to acknowledge and apologize to the WWII Japanese American draft resisters. However, the progress of healing between individuals and some organizations continues to be slow. The following newspaper articles and ‘Letters to the Editor’ demonstrates the struggle between members of the Japanese American community in attempting to come to terms and resolve the division within.
