Kokoro Kara, from our heart – A publication of the HMWF, summer 2002. Articles include: “Park Service advisors visit Heart Mountain” – “Foundation elects new board members” – “Heart Mountain lists names on Honor Roll” – “Let’s make Reunion VIII ‘Great’ “ – “Who can help solve these camp mysteries?” (see the following letters) – “Vandals plead guilty” (see newspaper clipping) – “Items sought for restored barracks” – “San Jose meeting featured camp ‘movies’ “, Letters – “Re: Kuro-A dog that returned to Heart Mountain” (reply to the Kokoro Kara article)...the dog appeared two years into Minoru Deishi’s internment at Heart Mountain. It had traveled 2,000 miles and took 2 years to reach Heart Mountain from L.A.. He died a few months later due to the ordeal of the long trip. Mr. Deishi was a bachelor. Newspaper clipping: Powell Tribune, A dozen Cody High School students have pleaded guilty to vandalism at the Heart Mtn. relocation center site...On of the three remaining original relocation center buildings was damaged by a vehicle...etc.
