Fair Play Committee – Newspaper article: “Rebuttal to Holly Yasui’s Reaction to James Omura” By Frank Chin, July 1990
Scope and Contents
Fair Play Committee – Newspaper article: Rafu Shimpo-Vox Populi – “Rebuttal to Holly Yasui’s Reaction to James Omura” By Frank Chin. Opening statement: “Holly Yasui’s reaction to James Omura is understandable, moving and wrong. Her father Minoru Yasui betrayed and sold out his own cause, just as the JACL had betrayed him.” Closing with: “The fact is, between Yasui and Omura, Omura is the victim, and Yasui is the poseur, the fink, the traitor, the hypocrite. The damage the JACL, Masaoka and Yasui have done to Omura is suggested in the years – decades – he was a pariah in the JACL police state of Japanese America, the two score years Omura’s voice was silent, his very name absent in the Japanese American press.”
