Jan.18, 1951 Paul Stock's twin motored Beechcraft, NC44591, piloted by Ralph Meyer, left Stapleton airfield at Denver at 2:30 p.m. for Cody with four passengers aboard. Passengers aboard the plane beside the pilot were, Mabel Oberly (Stock's secretary), Don Weaver of L.A., Jim Hay of Beverly Hills, and Orman Brown-Denver geologist. Jan. 19 - Casper Tribune -"Ground and Aerial Searchers Battle Storm. No Trace of Lost Plane" Last word from missing party said ship was 60 miles south of Casper on flight. Jan. 22 - Rocky Mountain News - "100 Planes Seek 5 Lost in Wyoming" Date ? - Denver Post - "Missing Plane Believed Sighted" A sheepherder reported to rescue teams at Casper that he saw a twin-engine plane land on a county road near Arminto, forty-five miles northwest of Casper, thursday afternoon. He said he saw '4 or 5' persons get out of the plane and walk around, then get into the plane again and take off. As the plane disappeared over the brow of a hill the sheepherder saw a big cloud of black smoke. Jan. 23 - Casper Morning Star - "Hope Wanes for Five in Missing Aircraft" "5-Inch Snowfall Halts Operations in Arminto" Jan. 24 - Casper Tribune - Over 75,000 square miles had been searched by pilots operating out of Casper up to dusk Thursday evening in what has been termed the largest air search ever conducted in the United States. Jan. 24 - The Worland Wyoming Daily News - "Search for Plane Now Switches to Montana - Craft May Have Crashed Near Bridger" Jan. 25 - Denver Post - "Missing Plane Hunt Continues by Land and Air" "Cold, Weary Search Party Checks Fruitless Leads" Jan. 25 - Northern Wyoming Daily News - "Search Headquarters are Moved to Worland" Jan. 25 - Cody Times - "Plane Search Shifts Near Cody Area" "Pilot of Missing Plane Noted for Careful Flying" "Popular Cody Woman Aboard Plane" "Owner of the twin engine Beechcraft which disappeared somewhere in Wyoming last Thursday afternoon on a flight from Denver to Cody with five aboard, is Paul Stock, local oil man. An ardent but careful air enthusiast, Mr. Stock equipped his plane with all radio and navigational aids available for that type craft, and during the past two years has traveled over much of the North American continent with Ralph Meyer piloting him" Jan. 26 - Worland Daily News - "Pilots Continue with Search for Cody Plane - No Trace of Craft is Found" Jan. 27 - "Huge Air Search for Missing Cody Plane is Suspended"- "...The announcement was made by C/L/(Buddy) Faught, co-director of the search for the missisng Cody-bound plane. ...Paul Stock, Cody millionaire, in Worland to consult with search directors here, said that he agreed wholeheartedly in the move by Capt. James L. Nollkamper, Civil Air Patrol-air force liaison officer. Lt.Col. E.T. Mileski, wing commander of the CAP, and Faught, state aeronautics director and head of the Wyoming Air Rescue service, to suspend the mass air search. Date ? - The Cody Times - "Local Man Named On CAP Board" Paul Stock of Cody was advised this week of his selection to the special national advisory board of the Civil Air Patrol. His appointment was contained in a letter sent him by Maj.General Lucas Beau, USAF, commanding general of the CAP....."The local man, with his brother Jay, had the first airplane agency in Wyoming and in 1917 built the state's first airfield, a field still in operation just east of Casper. Since then he has always remained close to the aviation activities." Feb. 1 - The Cody Times - "Air Tragedy Renews Friendship" May 20, 1951 - The Casper Tribune-Herald - "Plane Wreck Is Discovered In Bates Hole - Plane and Five Occupants Scattered Over Big Area"- Four months to the day-almost to the very hour-after the private plane of Paul Stock vanished in the wilds of central Wyoming it was found-scattered over the side of a rocky, sage-covered mountain about 25 miles almost due south of Casper. In the wreckage were the mangled and torn remains of the five persons who were carried to their deaths when the plane crashed and exploded during a snowstorm last Jan.18, on a flight from Denver to Cody. ...From the way the twin engines were buried in the mountainside, the plane must have been in a steep dive at the time of the crash.

Sept. 22, 1950 - Enterprise - "Paul Stock Contributes Major Gift to Cody War Memorial Drive Fund" - "Ed Grigware, chairman of the Rotary club's War Memorial committee, announced Thursday that Paul Stock, well-known Cody oilman and former Cody mayor, had offered to furnish the major portion of the War Memorial funds" July 5, 1951 - The Cody Times - "War Memorial Dedicated by Gov. Barrett Tuesday"

July-Aug., 1931 - "Arrangements for the funeral of Genevieve Stock include services by the Rev.Mr. Pawla at 8 o'clock Saturday morning at the Stock Residence, at 1144 Beck Av. Immediately after, the body will be taken to Greybull to catch the train for Denver where the interment will be in the family mausoleum there.
