Margaret Murdock Day – Topeka Mayor named Aug.26, 1976 as Margaret Murdock Day, Awarding her a proclamation and medal. • Kansas Sesquicentennial (1891-2011) – Ms. Murdock was among the Greatest 150 Kansas Athletes of the Sesquicentennial, and she was ranked 5th among the 100 Greatest Athletes of Shawnee County, by the Topeka Daily Capital newspaper. • Ms. Murdock is in 7 HALLS of FAME. • Awards and Honors – 1962 to 2014 • Service to the United States Shooting Sports. Margaret Thompson-Murdock was the first female to be chosen to shoot on the United States Army Marksmanship Training Unit (USAMTU).
