K.S.U. Rifle Team. “Wake” magazine article. “Kansas Miss Wins Recognition” Margaret Thompson showing the form that won her National Recognition. Miss Margaret L. Thompson, a twenty-one-year-old chemistry major at K-State, has been officially recorded as establishing two new National records in the women’s division at the NRA sanctioned 50 foot, indoor, smallbore rifle shoot at Wichita, the 6th and 7th of April. In setting these two National records she shot a perfect 200 in the 20-shot metallic sight kneeling match, and a 789 out of a possible 800 in the metallic sight, four position, 80 shot match. The old records were 199 and 771, respectively. Article continues.
