Benning, “Army Shooters Blast Way to Championships at Post”, “The Free Rifle events were dominated by Capt. Margaret Thompson.” She won both the kneeling and standing events to capture the Free Rifle Championship with a tally of 1156. Maj. Presley Kendall, winner of the Free Rifle prone match placed second with an 1150 aggregate, while Capt. Bruce Meredith was third.
