Newspaper clipping – Topeka Daily Capital, “Topekan Eyes European Tour”, Thirty of the nation’s top shotgun, pistol and rifle shooters from the U.S. Army Marksmanship Training Unit here will compete in Europe’s top shoots this spring. The team includes Capt. Margaret Thompson of Topeka, who in last year’s Pan American Games won two gold medals and set two world records in the process. Although there is no separate class for women in Olympics’ shooting, she will be among the favorites for a U.S. Shooting Team berth in July.
