National Mid-Winter Smallbore Championships, Tampa, FL The Bayonet, Ft. Benning, “Army Marksmen Defend Titles in Tampa Matches”, The U.S. Army International Team successfully defended their team and individual championships by winning the Team and Individual Aggregates at the Sawgrass Championships completed at Tampa, FL. The team match was won by Army Blue followed by Army Red. Blue fired a 2237 for the championship and Red shot a 2158 for second place. Army Blue members were Wigger, Adams, Kendall and John Foster. Army Red included Bruce Meredith, Margaret Thompson , Nels Nelson and John Writer. The Iron and Scope (publication) – Results – 3-position (matches A,B, and C)- Aggregate score, Margaret Thompson was the third-place master service winner with a score of 1154-29X. Matches D and H, Margaret Thompson received the High Lady Plaque with an aggregate score of 2283-39.
