Scope and Contents
The collection includes photos, a journal, and letters from George Allen Dean to his mother. All items are from his summer traveling and working in Yellowstone Park. The collection also includes a photo album with pictures between the years 1900 and 1904.

Biographical or Historical Information
George Allen Dean was born on April 9, 1881 in Dedham, Massachusetts. In the summer of 1903, he came out to Yellowstone Park to travel and work. George Allen Dean was a student at Boston University and once his work was done out in Yellowstone he returned to Boston. He settled in Anaconda, Montana where he worked for the Anaconda Company in the accounting field. George Allen Dean married Claire Salisbury. They had five children and twenty-two grandchildren. He passed away on November 15, 1956.
