MS 001 - Cassilly Adams Collection
Abstract
Western genre and historical painter, Cassilly Adams (1843 – 1921), studied at the Boston Academy of Fine Arts. He is most noted for his painting Custer's Last Fight, completed during 1884 – 1885. The collection includes correspondence, copies of U.S. government documents relating to Adams, genealogical records, inventories of the Cassilly Adams estate, and articles and newsclippings concerning his art.
