MS 430 - Greater Yellowstone Sights and Sounds Video Collection
Abstract
This collection is comprised primarily of wildlife and environmental video footage from Yellowstone National Park and the surrounding Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. It also includes Yellowstone-related stories broadcast for television news, interviews with scientists and other stakeholders, and documentation of public meetings held on topics such as gray wolf and grizzly bear management. The clips are acquired and curated to assist with scientific and historical research and educational programming.
The Greater Yellowstone Sights and Sounds Archive is spearheaded by Dr. Charles Preston, Willis McDonald, IV Senior Curator of the Draper Natural History Museum. This online collection is an joint endeavor between the Draper Natural History Museum and the McCracken Research Library, both of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. This effort has been generously supported by the R. K. Mellon Family Foundation, Nancy-Carroll Draper Foundation, and many private donors to the Draper Natural History Museum Collections and Research Fund and Exhibits and Education Fund.
