Biographical or Historical Information
Rudolph J. Kornbrath began his career in gun engraving at the Ferlach school in Austria in 1904. He emigrated to the United States in 1910, where he first settled in Cleveland and then Hartford. In Hartford he was discovered by Colt, Winchester and other manufacturers and by private enthusiasts of the engraved firearm. He remained active through 1937, when a stroke ended his career. He died February 23, 1946.
