Biographical or Historical Information
Thomas Patrick Cuffe (1873 – 1945),
Born in Belfast, Ireland on September 25, 1873 to Mr. and Mrs. John Cuffe. Along with eight other siblings the Cuffe family immigrated to the United States through the port of Boston on the ship Canadian, arriving on April 28, 1883. He married Mary Seufer on January 5, 1897 in Graham County, Arizona. Enlisting in the United States Army in 1891, Cuffe served in the Spanish-American War, and served until his retirement from the Army in 1914. He was a performer in Buffalo Bill's Wild West during the summer of 1894. In 1918 he became a teacher at the Tamalpais Military Academy before working for the San Rafael High School until his death in 1945.
