Abstract
This photographic collection housed at the BIA, Wind River Agency, Ft. Washakie, Wyoming, consists of about 2,500 black-and-white photographic images. Most of the photographs were taken during the 1930's on the Wind River Reservation, although a few were dated in the late 1920's or early 1940's. They were primarily of the co-operative work projects in progress at the time, such as roadbuilding, erosion control, fire-fighting, sawmills, tie drives, irrigation ditches, completed dams,...

Abstract
This collection contains the personal papers of James Canan. James Canan worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs between the years of 1956-1994. The collection has a mixture of publications, personal notes, and federal governement records all pertaining to the Bureau of Indian Affairs and issues that affected that line of work. The pieces in this collection are helpful when researching the Bureau of Indian Affairs during the civil rights movement.
