This collection of booklets relates to tourism in Yellowstone and dude ranches in Wyoming These booklets are representations of tourism to Wyoming in the early 20th century. They contain pictures and descriptions of Yellowstone and dude ranches.
MS 051 - Western Scenes: Woodcuts and Engravings
Collection consists of various published images of western scenes cut out of various publications, including Picturesque and Marvels of the New World, as well as French and German language books and newspapers. The plates represent scenes from the American west and give a good indication of how the United States was pictured in the mid-nineteenth century.
MS 281 - John Colter Files of J. Neilson Barry
Early 20th century correspondence and writings of J. Neilson Barry related to John Colter’s travels in the early Rocky Mountain West as a mountain man after leaving the Lewis and Clark expedition, including maps and a 1938 article by Neilson in the Wyoming Annals.
