U.S.shooters returned to Ft.Benning March 28 from Mexico City.....Of the 17 nations participating, the U.S.marksmen garnered a total of 50 medals which was almost half the total awards. Cuba ranked 2nd in overall showing w/10 medals. Leading U.S. effort in their gold haul was Capt.Lanny Bassham. No mention of Foster or any other USAMTU members in the article.

Location: Ft.Benning,GA. Army shooters regained the top spot Friday in the 15th annual Interservice Int'l Shooting Championships with victories in handgun and rifle competition. Maj. Jack Foster of the USAMU won the three-position smallbore rifle competition and Sgt.1C. Bonnie Harmon, also of the AMU, took first place in pistol competition. Foster captured his championship with 1164 points out of a possible 1200.
